Ukhuni is committed to empowerment and is a Level 1 BBBEE contributor with 51% Black ownership, and 31.04% Black Woman Ownership.

Ukhuni is recognised as an empowering Supplier, with recognised Procurement Recognition Levels of 125% which entitles clients to claim 125% of their spend towards their empowerment preferential procurement score. .Verification is conducted annually by VMS (Verification Made Simple).

Ukhuni actively practices:

  • Preferential procurement by sourcing goods and services from certified empowered suppliers.
  • Skills development, including on-the-job, functional and life skills to facilitate personal growth and the consequential improvement in quality of life.
  • Ukhuni’s has invested substantial funds on sustainable enterprise development since 2011. Thusong and Modjadji are two SMEs which have benefited as a result of Ukhuni’s advisory and financial support.
  • Socio economic development of underprivileged communities through the ongoing Ukhuni HOPE initiative.
